Benefits of Wool for Your Plants

Wool retains moisture to reduce watering during dry spells. Its fibres create air pockets that improve soil structure and support root growth. As it slowly breaks down, wool releases nitrogen, sulphur and potassium for gentle, long-term feeding. Wool mulch can also suppress weeds, protect soil from temperature changes and discourage slugs and snails. Use untreated natural wool where possible, keeping it slightly away from stems for airflow.

For temporary indoor use, pair them with one of our bamboo or ceramic pot saucers.

Transfer the plant and planter directly into the garden once it has at least two leaves or roots begin to emerge from the bottom.
